Sharing our joy or taunting our friends?

I was out with a few friends yesterday and decided to splurge on tiramisu for dessert.   I, like so many people I know, pulled out my camera phone to share this on Facebook before even taking a bite.

What I honestly don’t know is why do we do this?   My first thought was that my mom would love it because its her favorite.   But why share with everyone and not just her?  For that matter, how will a picture of my dessert that she can’t smell or taste improve her day?

At least she would know that I was thinking of her.  As for the rest of my friends, I’m gonna go with…. They will know that I am enjoying my life to the fullest and hopefully they will be inspired to do the same.

Of course, there may be a few people on my list that will judge my overweight self for indulging.   To them….be jealous, skinny and miserable!
